Old Barn

Here are some cute pics I took of the girls this weekend.  My parents have some neighbors who have this really cool old barn and we decided to take some pics of the girls with it.  They look pretty cool in black and white.

On another note my Samantha starts pre-school tomorrow.  If I can stop sobbing long enough to post pictures tomorrow of her first day I will.  How did she get old enough for pre-school already!!??

Wild!

A few weeks ago I took the girls to one of those inflatable jumping places to play with some friends and I forgot to take my camera.  They have a really tall slide and I am not kidding when I say the first hour we were there she went up and down it the whole time.  Well she absolutely flies down it because she is so light and she loves every second of it.  After a few times she started jumping at the top and she would land about 1/3 of the way down the slide.  She is just wild.  If it didn't have a thing at the bottom to stop her she would fly across the room.  Anyway I took them back this morning and got a couple pictures.  It was really hard to get one since she comes down so fast but you'll get the idea at what an adrenaline junky she is.

Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!!

Well Samantha is officially 3.  We had her 3rd annual pool party at her grandparents house.  Samantha has been talking about her birthday for months, so she was so excited that the day had finally arrived.  She had such a great time.  We cooked hamburgers and hung out with family and friends, it was a great day.  Happy Birthday sweet girl!

My baby is turning 3!!!

I can hardly believe it but my sweet Samantha will be 3 in just a few days. I took her 3 year old pictures this morning and they turned out ok. She is such a fun, sweet, and smart little girl. She is a wonderful blessing to our family! I will post pics from her actual party in a few days... In the meantime here are a few shots from this mornings photo shoot. Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

Indian

Well Samantha is officially old enough to embarrass us. My lovely husband was talking this weekend about being Indian for those of you who don't know he is a card carrying Cherokee and Pottawatomie Indian. Are you thinking to yourself oh yes now I see how I could have obviously overlooked it? No, I didn't think so he couldn't look more Irish could he? Anyway this is a funny thing around our house since he doesn't look Indian so he starts jokingly saying "Don't let the white man keep you down." You know I am the "white man" at our house. So we have a little laugh about it and then Samantha starts saying it. I told her that we don't say that and I thought that was the end of it. Well not so much..... The next day we went to Walmart because her Daddy is going to get her a fish tank for her birthday and we were on the isle looking at all the fish with about 6 or 7 other people and Samantha looked at her sister and said "Ally, don't let the white man keep you down." I was mortified. I think Daddy needs his mouth washed out with soap!!! Hope nobody is offended by this crazy story!!

Pics of the girls

Here are just a few pics of the girls playing. Alexandra is trying to take her clothes off in a couple of these pictures. She is always ripping bows and ponytails out of her hair and apparently now she is going to start trying to undress herself. On another note Samantha is completely potty trained and has been for a little over a week. I was hoping she would do this before she turned 3 and she did, I am so proud. One little hiccup we have is that she apparently doesn't like public restrooms. We went to the mall today and we spent no joke half the time we were there in the bathroom. She kept telling me she had to poop but just couldn't go when we got in there. Probably doesn't help that she is constantly about to fall in and every 35 seconds the automatic toilet flushes on her. She kept saying that she wanted to go home to potty. So needless to say she never went and decided to hold it until we got home. I got to say that Justin and I really hate public restrooms and apparently this behavior has rubbed off on our poor daughter.

Another funny little story... Justin was out of town last night for work and he called to check on us and was asking about the girls. When he called Alexandra had already gone to bed. So Samantha gets on the phone and tells her Daddy that "Sissy is chasing bunnies in her sleep sack." She is so funny.

Alexandra's Baby Dedication

Alexandra was dedicated at church today.  She had all of her grandparents and almost all of her Aunts and Uncles (we missed you Kelly and Jason) there.  The church gave them a something that had her names scriptural meaning which is "Helper of Mankind" and this is her lifetime scripture:

"Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may
receive mercy, and find grace to help in time of need."
Hebrews 4:16

Our family all came back to our house for brunch and we all hung out and played with the girls.  It was a nice Father's day and a great day to have our baby girl dedicated.  Hope all of you had a good day as well.
